Hotel Beds - We Were Sharks

The beginning of this song is very intriguing. It is a simple guitar riff but spiced with some heavy original effects. The song's style sounds like pop punk but with an alternative kick to it and I found that very different from the other songs I have reviewed. Although the song sounds like that, the album cover did not match the type of music style. When I first saw the album cover before listening to the song, I thought I was going to listen to a simple indie song about a hotel because of the colours they have chosen in the cover. When I see yellow, I think happy, chilled music. Instead, it surprised me. I have never heard about "We Were Sharks" before today but they are very good. The vocals in the song fit the melody very well and it sounded as if it was faded a little bit to mix in with the drums and guitar. I really love how original this song is and how it stands out from many other songs. I will definitely add this song to my playlist.
