Pink Floyd is a band who is loved by many. Fathers pass on their love for Pink Floyd to their children and their children will pass it on to their own. They were respected by so many artists and have achieved so much. Because of their talent and their originality, they will never be forgotten. But can an artist cover a Pink Floyd song and be just as good?
The Band “Of Mice and Men” decided to cover Pink Floyd’s “Money”. When I first heard about their cover, I was worried that I would not like it because of how beautiful and unique the original is. But I decided to give it a chance. When I first started listening to it, I realized that they started the song the same way Pink Floyd started theirs, with the sound of money clinging together, they were off to a good start. After awhile of listening to the beginning of their cover, I realized that their version of the song was more up beat compared to Pink Floyd’s. It had more of a heavy rock style compared to the original. The cover was less “easy going” compared to what Pink Floyd recorded, which is one of the reasons why I love the original so much, but their version definitely stood out. They really knew how to make it their own. I personally enjoyed the cover of “money”. If you are a rock/heavy metal fan, you will definitely enjoy this version of “money”. If you’re a Pink Floyd fanatic, you might dislike how much they changed it, but I definitely recommend this song. They did an incredible job.
